We slow it down, composing ourselves before sitting down again. I can’t decide if I’m drunk off a glass of wine or him. I’m lightheaded and giddy, my smile too large. And as much as I enjoy wine, I want to continue tasting him. We continue our conversation, more comfortably sharing our past perspectives. The brief stolen kisses and touches are heightening all my senses. We finish our wine and a couple of guys help Eliazar load the cases in the SUV.

Back in the car, he asks, “Where to next?”

“Exit and take a left on the highway. We have more wine to pick up. We’re stopping at a total of four vineyards today.”

“Are we planning on tasting all the wines?” He greets me with the sexist smirk.

“Do you want to taste all the wines?” I toss back, teasingly.

“I’d rather taste you, but wine is good too.” His eyes darken and my core tightens. “But…” He drags the word out.

“But?” I turn my body to face him, ready to crawl over the console and straddle him.

“It won’t be safe to drive back to the city after all that wine.” He shrugs his shoulders. “Maybe we should find a room in town.” His voice suddenly husky.

“I may…be open to finding a room.” I roll my eyes and lick my lips.

“Then it’s settled. Let’s go taste some wine.”
